Room and board are going up for students at the University of Nebraska at Kearney.
The board of regents has approved a 5 percent increase for next school year.
It will affect students selecting the seven-day meal play while residing in a double occupancy basic room.
For example, for a double room with 21 meals a week, students currently pay about $7,500.
After the increase, the plan will cost about $400 more, or $7,900.
School officials say the rate changes reflect higher costs, including employee salaries and benefits and food.
The regents also voted to increase rates for residence halls at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and the Nebraska College of Technical Agriculture at Curtis.
