It's that time of year. Holiday treats are all around and we're too busy shopping for gifts to get to the gym.
Thinking ahead can save you from gaining the average extra one pound this time of year.
Experts say if you know you're heading to a holiday party, make sure you eat regularly throughout the day.
Also stay hydrated and eat a small snack before you go.
Once there, try to fill your plate half with healthy items, and half with treats.
And if you do over-indulge, don't beat yourself up.
Just get back on track with healthy habits.
One of those healthy habits? Exercise. You may be busy, but squeeze it in.
Trainers say 10 minutes of work, three times a day is as effective as 30 minutes all at once.
Interval training is a great way to maximize those minutes.
That's where you get your heart rate up for 30 seconds, then let it come down. Repeat that for 10 to 15 minutes.
Here's hoping you have a healthy holidays!
