The fight over Bob Kerrey's address escalates once again.

Republicans filed two complaints, this most recent one with Secretary of State John Gale.

Gale says his office is officially launching an investigation into the matter. He and his elections team will gather documents and evidence in an attempt to determine if Kerrey falsely filed when he registered as a voter in Douglas County.

Gale says it's a difficult task for his team that has no formal investigation training.

Republicans and democrats told us their opinions on the matter.

Mark Fahleson with the Nebraska Republican Party says, "He has to be a resident of the State of Nebraska. His first filing says he lived in his sister's house. About 24 hours later he filed the second filing saying he actually lives in the guest house of one of his wealthy donors, he doesn't live in either place. He actually lives in New York."

Chris Triebsch with the Nebraska Democratic Party says, "Is he saying he lives in two places? He filled out all his paperwork properly. Nebraskans are free to move from one address to another and that's everything was done properly by the book."

This entire investigation and court decisions would need to be made by the end of the month.
