The case against a North Platte woman accused of starting a fire in her home so another resident would leave has been sent to Lincoln County District Court.

Royalene Hernandez, 43, waived her preliminary hearing during an appearance in county court on Thursday. She's charged with first-degree arson.

Hernandez was arrested April 2 after firefighters were sent to her home to battle a carpet fire.

Authorities say Hernandez started the fire because the other resident refused to leave.

No injuries were reported.
