Nebraskans can comment on new social studies standards proposed by the state Department of Education.
The department has scheduled a series of community meetings to
gather input on the changes. The comments will be considered by a
45-member committee comprised of teachers, education officials and
curriculum directors before the standards are sent to the State Board of Education for approval.
The community meetings are set for Wednesday in North Platte, April 30 in Lincoln and May 1 in Omaha.
