The deputy accused of stealing from Hall County was not in court Wednesday as scheduled.
Instead, the county clerk's office said Kevin Bombeck has requested a preliminary hearing.
He's charged with felony theft.
County Attorney Mark Young has said the charge stems from money or property taken from the county.
Bombeck's preliminary hearing has not been scheduled.
