A $250,000 donation to the University of Nebraska Foundation will go toward nursing scholarships in Kearney.
The gift comes from the estate of Kathryn Reynolds, an Elm Creek native who worked at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney for more than 25 years. She got her nursing degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 1961. She died in July 2010.
The donation from Reynold's estate will create a fund to provide scholarships for nursing students at UNMC's Kearney division.
