The price of fuel is up over 50-cents from a month and a half ago, and many people aren't happy about it!
Right now in Grand Island expect to pay at least $3.49 for super unleaded gas, add ten cents to that price for regular.
Diesel is up over $4-gallon.
"It's kind of cutting into our budget right now. We don't understand why they are so high," said Consumer Monty Foster.
AAA Nebraska says there are many factors for higher gas prices one being higher crude oil prices.
"Its went up about 14-percent since December," said Kristy Schleeman with AAA Nebraska.
During the holidays gas prices were giving drivers some relief at the pump.
Customers were paying as low as $2.80 for a gallon of super unleaded.
That's as much as a sixty cent difference between now and then.
"Yeah they were down below three dollars a gallon. I just filled up my bike and it was like three fifty for non-ethanol. It's kind of frustrating," said Foster.
"It is really affecting lower and middle class people. They are having to make a lot of sacrafices for people right now," said Schleeman.
That's because the higher prices add up quickly.
AAA Nebraska says gas prices are expected to top out during the month of February..
They could even go down again by mid summer!
