The Grand Island Community Youth Council is showing off the artistic work of more than 550 local students.
The unveiling of the group's permanent mural at the Heartland Events Center is the culmination of a seven month art project.
The mural is made up of CDs decorated by students in preschool through high school, represent what each student considers the "good in the good life."
"I'm hoping that this mural shows just how much we love our state, we love our community," CYC member Michael Hollman says.
City leaders congratulated the students on their hard work, and thanked them for their dedication to the community. Forty local businesses made donations that made the project possible.
