The City of Grand Island has declared a snow emergency for Tuesday.
According to a statement released Monday afternoon, a winter storm advisory and forecast prompted the emergency.
It is scheduled from 1:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
During a snow emergency, parking is prohibited on all snow emergency routes. These routes are identified by the red, white, and blue snow emergency signs posted every few blocks, according to city officials.
Grand Island Police will enforce the no parking policy during the snow emergency. Parked and/or abandoned vehicles on emergency snow routes are subject to being towed away.
City officials encourage residents to limit travel and remind you that snowplows may throw snow on curb sidewalks.
