A Nebraska state tax credit will offset part of the real property taxes levied in this year.

The Nebraska Department of Revenue announced that real property owners will receive a credit of $71.50 per $100,000 of value.

Department officials say the credit will appear on tax statements after the full amount of property taxes are levied for the year.

The department says the property tax credit does not affect property tax rates that are set by counties and cities.
