Nebraska's newest legislator has filed election papers in the hope that he can keep the job.
State Sen. Les Seiler, of Hastings, filed papers for the 2012 election with the Secretary of State's Office on Wednesday.
He'd been appointed to the District 33 seat, replacing the late Dennis Utter, who died last month.
Seiler is a senior partner at the Hastings law firm Seiler & Parker, P.C. He is a graduate of the University of Nebraska College of Law.
The district covers all of Adams County and portions of Hall
County in south-central Nebraska.
