The North Platte City Council may reconsider the city's new above-ground fuel storage tank regulations to allow natural gas.
A company that works with Clean Energy Fuels Corp. has asked the
council for permission to work with the city and the fire department to amend the rules.
Patrick Fiedler of Fiedler Group, an architecture and
engineering company, told the council on Tuesday that Clean Energy
Fuels is working on installing 300 fueling stations across the
country as trucking companies transition into using natural gas
instead of diesel. He says the Flying J truck stop in North Platte
is a site that will work with the company.
The council tabled the new regulations on the fuel tanks to give
officials time to discuss the idea.
