Snow and poor driving conditions shut down schools, stores and some who do their business on the road.
"We're stranded, until it clears up. Hopefully we'll get out tomorrow," said truck driver, Gail Clark.
Truck driver Vicky Turney says after unloading, she was having problems on the road.
"I'm just very light and the weather is bad so you slide around everywhere. You see cars in ditches, just time to stop," said Turney.
Truck driver George Easton was traveling Interstate-80 on his way to Lexington with a steel delivery before he decided to get off the road. He says conditions have changed dramatically since he started driving Thursday morning.
"I left Council Bluffs, Iowa at six this morning and made it as far as Grand Island, Nebraska. I hit the snow and called our shop. They said don't even come in because we can't get in the parking lot," said Easton.
For many drivers, weather delays can cause missed deadlines. Luckily for Easton, he's a little more relaxed.
"No deadline or anything for me. So it's just a matter of if it's clear tomorrow I'll leave, if it's not, I'll hang out until it's cleared up so I can go again," said Easton.
Many drivers say they plan on staying put Thursday and possibly Friday as well.
