It has been said that it is the one day a year that everyone is Irish.
"St. Patrick's Day is our busiest day of the year," Kearney's Thunderhead Brewery Brewmaster Trevor Schaben said.
And, with the lucky combination of the holiday falling on a weekend and the mild weather predicted, he's expecting a crowd.
"It should be a little bit crazier, a little bit harder to keep up with," Schaben said.
But, a new tool is helping locals do just that: keep up.
"Every year, its really fun, but its really hard to know what's going on in town," KearneyBars.com founder Chaise Meyer said. "You have to bar hop and go place to place. That's okay, but its not necessarily wonderful if you're just in it for the music or just in it for the free food."
That's why Chaise and KearneyBars.com came up with a St. Patty's Day timeline.
It outlines the events all day at ten Kearney bars.
Meyer said it has been popular with more than three hundred downloads so far.
"They read through it and they understood it," he said of fans. "They're like this is incredible. Why have we not done this in past years?"
The first suggested stop is Thunderhead Brewery where the festivities start at seven in the morning and extend far beyond decorations.
Their Irish spirit comes in a more liquid form
Schaben said he and Thunderhead Brewery have been preparing for holiday for about six weeks now, even going so far as to prepare a special brew.
Schaben said it is, "a drier stout with some rye in it and little bit of caraway so it takes like rye bread."
That same beer replaces milk in the bar's special occasion breakfast of Lucky Charm Cereal with Stout.
It is the first meal featured on the timeline.
"This morning I saw the timeline for the first time and I thought, wow, that's spectacular," Schaben said.
Meyer hopes others think the same.
"I'd like to see it become something where we use it for more events than just St. Patricks Day," he said. "If we could use it for any event, any holiday, it would be a great visual representation of what's going on in town."
That timeline can be downloaded on KearneyBars.com.
