Emergency sirens are working again in Chadron in western Nebraska after an upgrade took a week longer than expected.
The four warning sirens were tested and adjusted on Wednesday after the incorrect resistors were replaced.
The sirens were taken out of service in late February for a
federally-required upgrade. Officials thought it would take about a
week.
Officials say, however, the new equipment installed wasn't
compatible with the police department's radios and had to be
replaced.
