First there were Facebook comments, followed by a baseball bat beating.
Now, the Central Nebraska teen who police said attacked his mother appeared in court.
Police said he beat his mother, cutting and bruising her arms and legs. Monday, the two met again in court where the 17-year-old admitted to the attack.
It started in criminal court and ended in juvenile court.
The state dismissed criminal charges against the teen with the intent of filing in juvenile court.
Those charges are second degree assault and use of a deadly weapon to commit a felony.
It all happened in February.
Court documents said the teen threatened on Facebook to kill his family and claimed he had beaten his mother with a baseball bat.
Police found his mother with injuries consistent with a baseball bat.
Those documents also said he told police that he is fascinated by and wanted to replicate the Starkweather killings.
The teen's parents asked the court to lift a no contact order between him and his mother. The judge did so and the two spoke after court.
