The James Cristy Cole Shriner Circus had plenty of preparations to make for the Grand Island crowds and tonight's shows at the Fonner Park Heartland Events Center.
Circus performer Star Cristy Cole explained: "All the show girls have to do their make up, their hair, get ready. And we've been making cotton candy to sell to all the crowd, and we'll be also fixing the rigging, checking it all for the last moment."
Cristy and the circus team whip up about 500 bags of cotton candy a night, but it disappears fast, just like the circus. They pull up stakes after tonight's show to head to their next performance in Monroe, Louisiana.
