A pharmacy owner and police officer shot in a standoff in the Nebraska Panhandle town of Alliance are no longer in a hospital.
Box Butte General Hospital officials said Friday that 62-year-old Charles Lierk and 43-year-old Alliance police officer Kirk Felker were released Thursday.
Felker was shot early in Tuesday's 14-hour standoff that began
when authorities say 27-year-old Andres Gonzalez tried to rob
Thiele Pharmacy & Gifts. Lierk was shot as he escaped the standoff.
State trooper Tim Flick remained hospitalized Friday. He
sustained several gunshot wounds later in the standoff.
Alliance officer Matt Shannon sustained a shrapnel wound when
Flick was shot, and was treated and released Tuesday.
Gonzalez died after a shootout with police. Officers found his
father dead at home earlier that day.
