Authorities say a Wisconsin couple died when their car collided with a semitrailer on Interstate 80 near Ogallala in western Nebraska.
The Nebraska State Patrol says the accident happened Thursday
morning when 69-year-old Michael Phillips, of Manitowoc, Wis., lost
control of his eastbound car while trying to pass a truck.
Phillips' car crossed the median into the westbound lanes and was
struck by a westbound semitrailer.
Official say Phillips and his 62-year-old wife, Joann, died in the crash. The driver of the westbound semi and a passenger weren't injured.
The crash closed the westbound lanes of I-80 for about three hours.
