Executives with the Danish firm that invested $200 million in a new enzyme plant in Nebraska praised the U.S. government's continued support for biofuels.
Novozymes celebrated the completion of the plant near Blair on
Wednesday.
The plant employs about 100 people to make enzymes that help
break down the starch in corn or another feedstock, which is a
vital part of ethanol production.
Novozymes Executive Vice President Peder Holk Nielsen says its
critical that the United States maintains a strong standard for the
use of renewable fuel to promote growth in the industry.
