The man who oversees the Winnebago Tribe's economic development corporation has been appointed to a committee that advises the U.S. agriculture secretary.
Lance Morgan will serve on the Council for Native American Farming
and Ranching.
The committee was formed as part of a settlement between the USDA and Native American farmers and ranchers over claims that the agency discriminated in offering its Farm Loan Program. The committee is made up of Native American farmers and ranchers, representatives of the nonprofits that serve them, elected tribal leaders and USDA officials.
Morgan is the chief executive officer of Ho-Chunk Inc.
