Tree experts are planning a series of workshops this spring to help Nebraskans learn how to better care for their trees.

Eric Berg, with the Nebraska Forest Service, says this winter has been tough on a lot of trees in the state, and there are some major disease and insect threats.

The tree care workshops will be offered in North Platte on March 14, in Hastings on March 15, in Norfolk on March 27, in Omaha on March 29 and in Lincoln on April 3.

The $40 workshops are designed primarily for landscaping professionals.

They will include regional recommendations on the best trees to plant and the best practices to take care of them.
