A Nebraska man is recovering at an Omaha hospital after getting his leg caught in an auger.
The Sarpy County Sheriff's office says 50-year-old Joseph Riha was flown to Creighton University Medical Center Monday afternoon with serious injuries to his leg.
Lt. Russ Zeeb says Riha was using the 8-inch auger to move soybeans when the accident happened in a rural area southwest of Omaha.
Fortunately, a friend was there to turn off the auger shortly after Riha's pant leg got caught, but Zeeb says the machine still caused several serious cuts before it was shut down.
Riha is expected to recover.
