A teacher has sued Beatrice Public Schools, saying she was mistakenly given an insulin injection instead of a flu shot at a school nurse's office.

The lawsuit filed last week in Gage County District Court says Kari Daniels was treated at a hospital for insulin shock after getting the injection last September. The filing says the nurse also gave insulin to another school employee in place of a flu shot and later discovered the errors but didn't immediately tell Daniels.

Daniels is seeking unspecified monetary compensation.

District superintendent Jon Lopez declined to comment Thursday.

Daniels' lawsuit says she submitted a claim to the school board, which didn't act on it, so it was withdrawn.

She is suing for money...hmm figured that. Probably a person looking foe an easy way to cash in on someone's unfortunate mistake. Guess she is tired of teaching. And for the comment about the nurse adm advil to your child daily, it's probably because your child came to the clinic asking for it.....you ought to give it yourself if all you can do is complain!

I'm sure there are lasting effects from this horrible mistake. They are seriously lucky that this wasn't a child because they would probably be facing a wrongful death suit. They didn't even have the respect to act on the claim to the school?? Perhaps if they would have acted more quickly....which would have been the responsible thing to do, then we could at least say they had some intelligence, but they obviously let the matter go and in the event of insulin shock, timely response is crucial. Good luck Mrs. Daniels! I hope you get what you've got coming to you and you don't have too many ill effects because of their irresponsibility.

It's not the first time. I put advil as a PRN for my daughter for headache on papers at Stoddard and the nurse gave it to her everyday at lunch until I showed up and caught her doing it!!!!
