The film 9500 Liberty will be offered in a free screening followed by a panel discussion on Tuesday September 7 6:00pm- 8:30pm at Southeast Community College (Rm 102-106), 8800 O St Lincoln, NE. 9500 Liberty tells the story of Prince William Cty, Va- the only jurisdiction in the United States to implement a law requiring police to check immigration status based on a subjective standard of suspicion. 9500 Liberty examines the climate under which the “Probable cause” mandate became law, and reveals how the residents of Prince William Co came together to repeal the measure after two months of implementation. 9500 Liberty provides a blueprint for ordinary Americans seeking a fact-based, solutions- oriented approach to civic discourse, and a more informed and involved citizenry with regard to immigration and other critical issues.

The film screening will be followed by a panel discussion moderated by Reverend Howard Dotson of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Omaha. The panel will include Shirley Mora James of SA Mora James Law and Arturo Spindola of the Latino American Commission.

The screening and panel are free and open to the public.
