Everyone is talking about the Huskers' last season in the Big 12 Conference. Some are calling it the 'Big 12 Farewell Tour.'

Some say it will be a year for easy wins, while others will keep a close eye on Texas and Oklahoma.

Fans we spoke with Saturday say they are ready for Head Coach Bo Pelini and company to show the conference what they are really made of.

Beau Davis, former Husker quarterback, says, "What do you think about the upcoming season? I think a lot of fans have high expectations so I think the team knows everyone's expecting them to do good so they're going to go out there and do the best they can."

Grey Olson says, "They have great players, great quarterbacks and all running backs."

Lauren Davis says, "I'm excited to see Crick step up and see if he can step in and take the place of Suh who's obviously going to be a missing piece to our defense.

Most fans agree the Big Red will have a winning season.

Dave Bressman says, "We're gonna go all the way, we're going to win every stinkin game, that's all there is to it."

Lauren Davis adds, "They have a lot of growing and advancement and I think we're really going to be good in the coming years which I'm excited to see Nebraska football back!"

Beau Davis says, "Beating Oklahoma in the Big 12 championship game and going to a BCS game hopefully the national championship."

Fans are also talking about the quarterback quandary. It wasn't announced until gameday that redshirt freshman Taylor Martinez would start as quarterback in the season opener. Fans just hope the offense has improved from last year.

And it is hard to forget the season Ndamukong Suh had last year. Husker backers hope this year's blackshirts will follow in his footsteps.

"I think he kind of started the blackshirts back for everybody," said Liz Wurgler. "Hopefully without him, they will still lead the way he paved for all of us this last year."

"I think a lot of the fans have high expectations, so I think the team knows everyone is expecting them to do good so they are going to go out there and do the best they can," said Beau Davis.

"I am thrilled to be here looking to Bo to have another great season and hopefully coming back and being a little bit stronger," said Becky Brechbill. "We had a few disappointments last year and just looking forward to the season overall."

And you can not talk about his year's football season without including the game against Texas next month.

Many Husker fans are calling it payback for that unforgettable Big 12 championship game last year.

I appreciate your dedication but....Western Kentucky is ranked dead last in Division 1 football. They have lost 21 straight. If that is a tough team they have serious issues coming up. Nebraska fans are great but I love the realistic fans way better...

The optimism is high, and that's what I like to see! GET YOUR HANDS UP!! This is the year OUR Huskers DO IT!! National Champions! We're leaving the Big 12 with a bang!! WOO HOO!! Western Kentucky is a tough team, no doubt, but we are TOUGHER, as the scoreboard shows. First Western Kentucky, then the NATION!!
