An insurance company's study shows that Lincoln is one of the safest U.S. cities for drivers.
Researchers with Allstate Insurance Co. analyzed two years of internal crash data to calculate the chance that drivers in America's 200 largest cities would be involved in an accident.
Allstate, which claims a 11 percent market share of the nation's auto insurance policies, ranked Lincoln as the ninth-safest city.
Lincoln drivers will go an average of 12.2 years between collisions.
Allstate says Fort Collins, Colo., was the safest city in this year's study.
Drivers there experience a car crash about once every 14 1/2 years on average.
