In the early morning hours of March 19th, an Ashland Police Officer and his K9 partner performed a traffic stop near the Water Treatment Plant on Highway 6 in Ashland regarding a traffic violation. Further indicators led the officer to deploy the K9 Unit who indicated to the presence of drugs within the suspect vehicle.

Arrested for possession of over 100 pounds of marijuana and over 7500 in cash was 65-year-old Arnold P. Scholl, who gave differing information on his place of residence as both Henderson, Nevada and Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Officers from the Ashland Police Department and the Cass County Sheriff's Office assisted in the event.

The investigation is ongoing.
