The parents of a slain Omaha police officer say they're dropping their lawsuit seeking visits with their granddaughters.
Stacy Pratt, widow of Jason Tye Pratt, has not allowed her daughters to visit Rita and Mike Pratt for more than six months. Stacy Pratt says the relationship was having a negative effect on the girls.
Rita and Mike Pratt say no good comes from prolonging the legal battle with Stacy Pratt. Their granddaughters are ages five and two.
Attorney Amy Sherman Geren says the lawsuit will be dismissed without prejudice, meaning it could be refiled later.
Jason Tye Pratt was shot and killed in the line of duty in 2003.
