Firefighters from more than half a dozen metro area departments were called to battle a large building fire in Nashville, Nebraska early Thursday morning.
The fire started between 4:00 and 4:30 a.m. at PK Manufacturing Company on Highway 75 north of Omaha. Washington County officials had to shut down the highway between County Road P38 and Interstate 680. Flames were shooting out of the plant, and at least two explosions rocked the 85,000-square-foot building.
Transporting water to the scene of the fire and high winds made fighting the fire difficult.
The company makes agricultural spraying equipment, garden sprayers and custom steel products.
Tom Schropp, president of P-K Manufacturing hopes to move forward, but right now Schropp is not sure about the future of the company.
