Two Injured In Vehicle Collision

Lincoln County Deputies were called to an injury accident about 2 miles east of Maxwell on US Highway 30 on January 6, 2008 at about 1:15 P.M, according to a statement released Wednesday.
A 2002 Dodge Intrepid, driven by a 62 year old Bernidji, MN female, was eastbound on Highway 30.
The Intrepid was also occupied by a 6 year old granddaughter.
The driver was wearing her seatbelt and the 6 year old was seatbelted in a booster seat.
The Intrepid drove across the roadway and struck a parked 2003 Ford ½ ton pickup that was connected to a goose neck trailer loaded with cattle.
The pickup and trailer were parked on the westbound shoulder waiting to unload the cattle.
The pickup was occupied by a driver and passenger and neither was wearing an occupant restrain devices.
The 62 year old female suffered a broken right ankle and hip.
The 6 year old received a fractured lower left leg, fractured right cheek and fractures to the lumbar 3 and 4 vertebrae.
She was flown to Children’s Hospital in Denver.
The driver of the pickup complained of pain in his knee and groin, was check and released from GPRMC.
The Maxwell Fire Department and EMTs were called to attend to the victims until the North Platte Fire Department could arrive to transport to GPRMC. The Nebraska State Patrol assisted at the scene.
Alcohol was not involved.
