Light snow across central and eastern Nebraska has caused a rash of traffic accidents.
Snowfall of 1 to 2 inches was reported in the Omaha and Lincoln areas early Friday night and about an inch in the Grand Island area.
The Nebraska State Patrol is urging motorists to use extreme caution on icy and snowpacked highways in the eastern half of the state.
Numerous accidents have been reported in the Grand Island and Hastings areas. Omaha police stopped responding to non-injury accidents early in the evening, asking that motorists involved in fender benders exchange information.
