Several firefighters are battling a blaze at a machine products plant in north-central Omaha.

Firetrucks were dispatched to Nebraska Machine Products just before 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Fire spokesman James Gentile says three people were injured but are expected to survive. He says no firefighters were hurt.

About 50 people were evacuated.

Company workers say the fire was preceded by a small explosion.

The company website says it makes parts electronic industry as well as machine larger parts required in the hydraulic, agricultural, oil field, and automotive industries.
