Many western Nebraska residents are cleaning up after storms that dropped several inches of rain in some areas and generated one tornado.
National Weather Service forecaster Deb Blondin says her radar in North Platte suggests that areas near Sutherland received 3 to 5 inches of rain Monday afternoon from a slow-moving storm system.
Many Sutherland residents reported basement flooding.
A nursing home and a school band room also had flooding problems.
The Sutherland Volunteer Fire Department used some of its equipment to help remove floodwater.
The Weather Service confirmed one brief tornado near Interstate 80 several miles southwest of Sutherland.
But Blondin says no damage or injuries were reported.
