A former Hall County jailer accused of attacking his wife has pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor assault counts in a plea agreement with the prosecutor.
David Haynes had faced trial on three felony charges in connection with a report of a domestic assault at his Grand Island home.
Authorities have said the 49-year-old Haynes had been drinking when he got into a fight with his stepson and another man on Nov. 28.
Authorities say a short time later, Haynes choked his wife and threatened to shoot his wife's son.
Haynes is set to be sentenced Aug. 17. He faces up to a year in jail and a $1,000 fine for each count.
