Supporters of pro-reform demonstrators in Iran will gather in Lincoln over the next couple of days.

A candlelight vigil is scheduled for Tuesday night following "Jazz in June" at the Sheldon Art Gallery on the UNL Campus.

Nver Hasratyan, President of UNL's International Student Organization said they want to support the Iranians' "thirst for liberty".

"Every pain they have is also ours, every tear they drop is also ours, every sorrow they face is also ours," Hasratyan said. "We want to stand in solidarity with the relatives and friends of those Iranians who lost their precious life in the battle for their freedom."

Hasratyan says the "Second Rally in Support of Iranian Democracy" is set for 4:00-6:00pm, Wednesday, on 15th & O Streets near the Federal Office Building.

You people are disgusting. These kinds of comments were exactly what I expected to read here. What planet are they from? This one, but they have family and friends on another part of this planet. They share their pain and sorrow. What's hard to understand about that? And of course our streets are safe for protests. What's your point? Would you rather have them get on a plane and go over there and get shot? And Ed, what are you even talking about? Where's the support and compassion for other human beings?

AH! You gotta love the freedoms of these wonderful United States of America. If it wasn't for OUR freedoms, you wouldn't have a chance to protest. It must be rough to move to another country because things are so bad, but then protest for the freedom of the country you left to drowned in it own problems, from a safe locations across the pond.

"Every pain they have is also ours"? "Every tear they drop is also ours"? What planet are you from?

How about freedom for Americans? Not under this president. Your freedoms are slipping away one at a time! BO does not care about Iran let alone U.S.A.
