Police: Drunk Driver Smashes Through Landfill
Lincoln Lincoln police say one man is in custody for smashing the front gates of the city landfill while intoxicated.

Lincoln police say one man is in custody for smashing the front gates of the city landfill while intoxicated.
According to Captain Jim Davidsaver, 25 year old Derek Landers drove through the gates of the city landfill located on north 48th street just before 2 Friday morning.
Davidsaver says after he went through the gate, Landers drove about a half a mile through the landfill with the gate impaled to his car.
David-saver says they found the man, because he called 9-1-1 shortly after the incident, telling cops he didn't know where he was.
Davidsaver says the man was not injured but he did several thousands of dollars in damage to the gates.
The case is still under investigation.
