Production, marketing and distribution of local food will be the focus of an upcoming conference at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
The July 9 Nebraska Local Foods Network conference will include a panel of Nebraska producers sharing their experiences of marketing local food to larger regional markets.
Conference organizers say the event will also give a boost to "Nebraska Local Foods Awareness Week" which kicks off Sunday and runs through July 11.
Cost to attend the event is $15 per person if registered by Sunday. Otherwise, it's $20. To register online, visit http://cariregistration.unl.edu.
The network launched in 2008 through the efforts of Nebraskans wanting to encourage the production and consumption of local foods.
