A professional cyclist who suffers from diabetes will visit hospital patients in Omaha to talk with them about living with the disease.
Tim Hargrave plans to visit Children's Hospital and Medical Center Friday morning to talk about how he controls his diabetes.
Hargrave was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at the age of six. He began running to help control his blood sugar and later took up cycling.
Now Hargrave competes in professional cycling events as part of a team sponsored by companies that make diabetes monitoring equipment.
Hargrave is in Omaha to compete in a weekend competition, which includes a time trial, criterium and road race.
