Central Nebraska may soon have a Roman Catholic radio station. The listening area would include Hastings, Grand Island, Kearney and a large part of the central part of the state.
A public meeting will be held Thursday at St. Mary Cathedral in Grand Island to discuss the idea. It is a follow up to an October 16th meeting in Hastings.
Plans would include leasing all hours from a radio station. Presentations will be given by several people, including Reverend Kenneth Borowiak, director of communications for the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln, and Stephen Hruby, a board member of KVSS Catholic Radio in Omaha.
Leasing a radio station for two years would cost about $470,000.
