Attorney General Jon Bruning says the investigation into financial irregularities in the state Treasurer's Office is over.

But Sen. Ernie Chambers of Omaha is not ready to close the books. State Treasurer Lorelee Byrd has resigned after pleading guilty to one misdemeanor count of official misconduct after she wrote checks and kept them in her vault before voiding them.

Chambers says he wants to know if anyone else knew of Byrd's violations.
