The U.S. Olympic Committee demanded a name change, but the Xtreme Rat Challenge was up to the challenge.

Formerly known as the Rat Olympics, the annual event was held under a new name Thursday at Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln.

More than 300 students, faculty and curious onlookers packed into the university's administration building to watch 21 white rats compete in five events.

The university had to change the name of the Rat Olympics after the U.S. Olympic Committee objected. A contest was launched and a junior at York High School in Nebraska came up with the winning entry.

The rat competition is the annual Behavioral Learning Principals class project to teach rats to perform in various competitive events.
