Jury selection in the trial of a man accused in last year's Norfolk bank massacre got off to a slow start Monday.

An hour into the process, only one person had been questioned and deemed qualified to serve on the jury. The court needs a pool of 42 jurors, which will then be pared down to 12 jurors and two alternates.

Once a jury is selected, the trial of Jorge Galindo will begin in earnest. Galindo is charged with five counts of first-degree murder in the shooting deaths of four US Bank employees and one customer on September 26th, 2002.

The first person who qualified for the jury pool told the court she could be fair and impartial in the case. However, she also said it would be hard for her to set aside her sympathy for the victims' families.
