Economy Is Improving in Nebraska

Another sign the economy is improving in Nebraska.

Tax receipts were up 4.1-percent in November, the biggest spike in nine months.

Lawmakers still face a $211 million budget shortfall, but if taxes continue to come in above projections that deficit could shrink.

Gov. Johanns is cautioning, however, that the real story will be told in April through June, when most tax returns are processed.
