Many Waverly residents will spend the holidays looking for a new job. The National Crane plant in the city is moving production to Shady Grove, PA.

A lot of employee's spent their last day saying goodbye.

"It was a little rough but it went pretty good. Nobody did a whole lot….going around talking to everybody and telling them goodbye and wishing them the best,” said Willard Schowalter who worked at the plant for 25 years.

Jo Vicary worked as a receptionist at the plant for 30 years. She said this isn’t the way she pictured retiring.

“To have to retire on their terms is really, really tough and to know that it won’t be here to come to. That’s what’s hard.

Many of the long term workers will receive a severance package.
