A repeat petty crime offender in Lincoln has been found dead in a garage.
Police say 42-year-old David Alan Cedillo’s body was discovered at about noon on Tuesday. Authorities suspect he died between 3 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. An autopsy has been scheduled but police do not suspect foul play.
According to a 2002 Lincoln Journal Star article about chronic local offenders, Lincoln police arrested him 557 times since 1981.
Most of Cedillo’s offenses were minor ones, including trespassing. But in 1998 he began serving a sentence of six to ten years for first-degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
Authorities suspected he stabbed a man whose car he was attempting to burglarize. Cedillo was released from state custody in March.
