The cities of Lincoln and Omaha want to remind those with live Christmas trees to recycle them again this year.

This year marks the 17th year Lincoln has recycled trees.

Residents will be able to drop off their trees from December 25 through January 11 in Lincoln and until January 12 in Omaha.

Officials ask that all wires, lights, nails, and ornaments be removed from the trees before residents dropp them off.

The cities mulch the trees and then the mulch is offered free to residents.
