A 68-year-old woman has died as a result of a house fire Thursday in Holdrege.
The victim has been identified as Martha J Gould.
Phelps County Attorney Tim Hoeft says a passer by reported the fire shortly after 6pm. Gould was pulled from the fire and taken to the Holdrege hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Hoeft says a preliminary investigation indicated Gould died of smoke inhalation.
Hoeft says it appears the fire was accidental.
