The former K-Mart store building in Beatrice is being sold at auction.
The building is one of Beatrice's largest retail spaces. The auction will be held at 10 a.m. next Tuesday at the Gage County Courthouse.
County Treasurer Laurie Wollenburg says as of Jan. 5, property taxes owed for 2001, 2002 and 2003 will total $188,370.
A Beatrice real estate agent says the building probably has an appraised value of just over a million dollars.
The building has been vacant since mid-summer 2002 when K-Mart closed the store in a cost savings-restructuring program.
